HAG chairs help with 21st Century learning

As part of its’ extensive redesign of the Smythe Library, Tonbridge School has installed over 200 HAG Conventio Wing chairs from SitSmart, the Tunbridge Wells-based ergonomic chair and accessories company.

The famous private boys’ school has recently completed the project, which opens the space up for more flexible learning. Set over 3 floors, with mezzanines and ‘pods’ for 21st century learning requirements, the modern environment created works alongside the changing needs of users.

The school chose the Conventio Wing in various colours, some featuring seat cushions for the private study areas and some without. The colours chosen were felt to be ‘calm’ in what is a calm, yet purposeful space.

This dynamic, lightweight chair is ideal for regular use and its’ built-in in rocking mechanism inspires variation and movement, enhancing blood circulation, mental focus and performance. The school felt its flexibility meant it was both practical and comfortable for the boys and liked the chairs’ ability to stay balanced and level with the ground.
